We stayed here for a month in April 2014. Located right on the beach, the sites are paved and level (21 of them are pull thru). We really enjoyed this park, especially the views from our site.
The campground is operated by the Galveston Park Board and is reasonably priced. They offer restrooms and shower facilities, which are shared with the day use beach patrons. It has a small store and laundry. They also offer free wireless internet which worked well up until our last few days when it became a bit spotty. The sites do not have cable, but they did offer satellite tv in the clubhouse.
The campground is situated about ½ mile south of the seawall and a short drive to downtown Galveston and it’s many great restaurants. The park is quiet except for the sound of the wind, waves and seagulls.
The only drawback came the last week that we were there when massive amounts of seaweed came ashore. We were told this is a yearly event, but it was much worse than normal the year we were there.
